Purpose:
This program is designed to prepare students for employment in the nuclear energy service industry. It provides in-class and practical hands-on training in basic maintenance, electricity, engineering, programming, and related skills. Students completing this program will be prepared for employment as an entry-level technician in the nuclear energy field.
Admissions Requirements:
Individuals are eligible for admission to CVCC if they are high school graduates or the equivalent, or if they are eighteen years of age or older and able to benefit academically from study at the community college, as demonstrated by assessment in reading, writing, and mathematics.
Note: Program enrollees will be considered for an interview with Framatome for acceptance in the Nuclear Technology Academy which includes full time employment and benefits while completing the degree program.
Program Requirements:
All students expected to complete the requirements for a degree, diploma, certificate, or career studies certificate must complete an Application for Graduation.
Access to a computer that meets or exceeds the PC Specifications for Technical Programs.
