FastForward  Credentialing Program Tuition Assistance

FastForward is a short-term workforce training program to train Virginians for industry credentials and certifications for the most in-demand jobs across the region. Financial advisers are available to help explore financial aid options. It is easy to qualify!

How it works: You pay the first 1/3 of the class tuition when you register. The Commonwealth of Virginia pays 1/3 when you complete the class. The final 1/3 is paid by the Commonwealth of Virginia when you earn a high-demand industry credential. If the student does not complete the FastForward program successfully, they will be billed for the second 1/3.
FANTIC (Financial Aid for Noncredit Training leading to Industry Credentials)
The Financial Aid for Noncredit Training leading to Industry Credentials (FANTIC) program provides funding for students demonstrating financial need who are enrolled in a FastForward program. Funding is limited and is offered to students on a first-come, first-served basis. Students must complete a CVCC FANTIC Application and submit all requested forms and information before being considered for assistance. This funding covers the student 1/3.

G3 (Get Skilled, Get a Job, Get Ahead)
G3 is a tuition assistance program for any Virginia resident who qualifies for in-state financial aid and whose family income falls below an identified threshold. G3 can be used for designated programs in five of Virginia’s most in-demand industries: Early Childhood Education, Healthcare, Information Technology, Public Safety and Skilled Trades. This funding covers the student 1/3.

Tobacco Commission Scholarships
(This funding is available through the CVCC Educational Foundation.)
Thanks to a generous annual grant from the Virginia Tobacco Region Revitalization Commission there are several scholarship types available to CVCC students who live in Bedford, Campbell or Appomattox counties, or any of the other nearby tobacco region counties such as Pittsylvania, Halifax and Charlotte. This funding covers half of the student 1/3.

VA Scholars Initiative
(This is available through VA Ready)
students enrolled in Technology, Healthcare, and Select Trades may be eligible for a $1,000 Credential Achievement Award.
