LENGTH: Less than 1 Year

Purpose:

This program is designed for the student who desires the skills required for a basic entry-level machinist including applied mathematics, blueprint reading and use many of the complex tools and devices found in modern machine shops including drill press, engine lathe, vertical and horizontal milling machine, surface grinder.

Courses in this program fulfill requirements for the Machine Tool Diploma programs.  The Manufacturing Technology Fundamentals Career Studies Certificate program alone is NOT eligible for financial aid.  Interested students should consult an a counselor for further information. This program is G3 Eligible.

Admissions Requirements:

Individuals are eligible for admission to CVCC if they are high school graduates or the equivalent, or if they are eighteen years of age or older and able to benefit academically from study at the community college, as demonstrated by assessment in reading, writing, and mathematics.

Program Requirements:

All students expected to complete the requirements for a degree, diploma, certificate, or career studies certificate must complete an Application for Graduation.

1 Students whose placement scores qualify for placement in MTH 131 , MTH 154  or MTH 161  are encouraged to take these higher sequences in lieu of MTH 111 .
